Snow removal companies in London, Ontario, generally offer two ways to pay: per-visit single push pricing or a flat-rate season contract, and each fits a different kind of customer.
A single push means you're billed for each visit as it happens. This works well for properties that don't get much snowfall accumulation or for customers who want to control costs storm by storm rather than committing upfront.
A full-season plan bundles all visits for the winter into one predictable price, regardless of how many times it snows. This protects customers from a rough winter with frequent storms, since the price is locked in no matter how many visits it takes.
The trade-off is straightforward. Single push can cost less in a light winter but more in a heavy one, while a season plan evens out the cost and removes the guesswork of budgeting for snow removal.
At Thames Valley Snow, we offer both seasonal and per-visit service, and we are happy to explain the trade-offs for your specific driveway.
What Each Option Costs
Our seasonal plans run December 1 to March 31 and are priced by driveway size, plus HST: $650 to $725 for a single or 1.5-car drive, $815 for a double, and $1,050 for a 3-car, paver or stamped drive. Per-visit service is $70 to $85 + HST per visit. Seniors and front-line workers get 5% off seasonal plans.
A simple way to compare is to divide the seasonal price by the per-visit rate. For a single driveway, the seasonal price equals roughly eight to ten per-visit pushes. If you expect more snow events than that at 5 cm or more, the season plan tends to come out ahead.
What a Seasonal Plan Includes
A seasonal plan is automatic. Every snowfall of 5 cm or more triggers a visit, with no need to call. In long storms we make return visits, and the City windrow at the end of your driveway is cleared. You get a timestamped photo after every visit, and your edges, steps and drains are marked before the season starts.
Payment is a 30% deposit to reserve your spot, with the balance due before December 1, so your winter cost is known before the first flake falls.
When Per-Visit Makes More Sense
Per-visit is a good fit if you usually shovel yourself and only want help with the big storms, if you travel for part of the winter, or if you are new to the area and want to try a service before committing. Learn more on our per-visit snow removal page.
Questions to Ask Yourself
How early do you need to leave in the morning? Can you physically handle a heavy, wet snowfall or the City windrow? Would an unexpected run of storms strain your budget? If the answers point toward reliability and predictability, a season plan is usually the better choice. If you want priority early-morning clearing, that is available for $125 + HST.
What to Expect From a Seasonal Plan
