Ice is the second half of the problem

London winters bring freeze-thaw cycles, where snow melts during the day and refreezes at night. Driveways that look clear at supper can be glazed with ice by morning. Seasonal salt is $175 plus HST and includes freezing rain and refreeze visits, so the driveway gets treated when ice forms, not just when snow falls.

What it costs

Prices are fixed for the season. Single or 1.5-car driveways are $650 to $725 plus HST, doubles are $815, and three-car, paver or stamped driveways are $1,050. A 30 percent deposit holds your spot and the balance is due before December 1. If you would rather pay for each storm, per-visit clearing runs $70 to $85.

Quotes are measured from City of London maps and aerial imagery, so you get a fixed price within 1 business day without anyone needing to come out and measure. If you want coverage for snow outside the main season, an extension from November 1 to April 15 is $95.
