What the standard season covers

Our standard seasonal plans run from December 1 to March 31. Those four months are when most snow falls in southwestern Ontario and when most people expect to need help. During that period, every snowfall of 5 cm or more is cleared automatically, with return visits in long storms, the City windrow cleared and a timestamped photo after each visit.

Why November and April can still bring snow

Snow does not read the calendar. Early-season snow in November and late snow in early April both happen in Ontario. Those storms are often wet and heavy, because temperatures are near freezing, which makes them harder to shovel. They also tend to arrive when people have not yet got their winter routine going, or have already put the shovel away for spring.

What the extension adds

The season extension covers November 1 to April 15 for $95 plus HST. Within those extra weeks, the same rules apply: automatic clearing at 5 cm, no calls needed. It is not a separate contract, just a longer window on the plan you already have.

Who it makes the most sense for

• People who leave early for work or have long commutes and cannot afford to be stuck in November.
• Seniors or anyone who should not be shovelling heavy wet snow.
• Households that travel in spring and want the property looked after.
• Homes with long or sloped driveways where even one storm is a big job.

If you are home most days, have a working snowblower and do not mind the odd early or late storm, the standard season may be all you need. You can also use per-visit service for a one-off storm, at $70 to $85 plus HST per visit.

How to add it

Mention the extension when you request your quote, or add it before the season starts. Because coverage begins November 1, it is best to sort it out early in the fall. Seasonal plans take a 30% deposit, with the balance due before December 1.

Before the season starts we mark your edges, steps and drains so they can be found under snow. After every visit you get a timestamped photo. We are fully insured with $2,000,000 in liability coverage and registered with WSIB. Seasonal salting is available for $175 plus HST and includes freezing rain and refreeze visits, and seniors and front-line workers save 5% on seasonal plans. Prices are fixed for the season: single or 1.5-car driveways are $650 to $725, doubles are $815, and three-car, paver or stamped driveways are $1,050, all plus HST. We measure your property from City of London maps and aerial imagery and send a fixed quote within one business day. A 30% deposit reserves your spot, with the balance due before December 1.
