Why measure from maps at all
In the fall, many homeowners ask for quotes at the same time. If every quote required someone to drive out and walk the property, people would wait days for a number. Map-based measuring lets us look at your property carefully and get you a fixed price within one business day for residential work, and within two business days for commercial sites.
It also means you do not need to be home, take time off work or arrange a meeting. You send your address, and we do the measuring.
What we look at
City of London mapping shows property lines and parcel shapes, and aerial imagery shows the actual paved surface. Together they let us see:
- How long and how wide the driveway is, and whether it widens near the garage.
- Whether it fits one, one and a half, two or three cars.
- Walkways from the driveway to the door and any front steps.
- Where there is room to pile snow without blocking sightlines or burying shrubs.
- Surface clues such as interlocking pavers or stamped concrete, which need more care.
How the measurement turns into a price
Our seasonal prices are set by driveway size and surface, plus HST. A single or 1.5-car driveway is $650 to $725, a double is $815, and a three-car, paver or stamped driveway is $1,050. Walkway and steps start from $150. Add-ons such as seasonal salt ($175), pet-safe de-icer ($120), priority early-morning clearing ($125) and a season extension ($95) are optional. Because the measurement is done up front, the quote you get is fixed for the season, not an estimate that changes after the first storm.
When we ask you a question first
Aerial images are a snapshot. Sometimes trees hide part of a driveway, a new addition is not shown yet, or a side path leads to a back door we cannot see. If something is unclear, we will ask before quoting rather than guess. It helps if you tell us about anything unusual when you request a quote: a basketball net near the edge, a slope, a gate, or steps you want included. Before the season, edges, steps and drains are marked on site so the crew knows exactly where everything is under snow.
How our seasonal service handles it
Our seasonal plans run from December 1 to March 31. Clearing is automatic every time 5 cm or more falls, so you never need to call or book a visit. In long storms we come back for return visits, and the City windrow at the end of your driveway is cleared as part of the service. Before the season starts we mark your edges, steps and drains so they can be found under snow. After every visit you get a timestamped photo. We are fully insured with $2,000,000 in liability coverage and registered with WSIB. Seasonal salting is available for $175 plus HST and includes freezing rain and refreeze visits, and seniors and front-line workers save 5% on seasonal plans. Prices are fixed for the season: single or 1.5-car driveways are $650 to $725, doubles are $815, and three-car, paver or stamped driveways are $1,050, all plus HST. We measure your property from City of London maps and aerial imagery and send a fixed quote within one business day. A 30% deposit reserves your spot, with the balance due before December 1.

A Thames Valley Snow seasonal residential plan starts from $650 for a standard driveway. It covers clearing the driveway every time snowfall reaches the trigger depth in your agreement, plus the windrow the city plow leaves at the end of the driveway.
